Studia Orientalia<\/em> (ISSN 0039-3282) is an internationally recognized publication series published by the Finnish Oriental Society (Societas Orientalis Fennica). It consists of high-quality monographs and thematic collections of articles relating to all fields of Asian and African studies. Studia Orientalia<\/em> is widely known, as it is delivered to more than 140 libraries around the world. If you have a proposal for the series, please get in touch with the editor, Lotta Aunio (lotta.aunio[AT]helsinki.fi).<\/p>\n

The journal follows the peer review instructions of Finnish Association for Scholarly Publishing and the guidelines issued by Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity (TENK). All peer-reviewed articles of the journal are indicated with the peer-review label<\/a>, which is a registered trademark of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies issues the right to use the label to publication series based on applications.<\/p>\n

In 2013 an offshoot of Studia Orientalia<\/em>, Studia Orientalia Electronica<\/em> (StOrE), was established. StOrE is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal publishing original research articles and reviews in all fields of Asian and African studies. StOrE was established to keep up the fine publishing tradition of Studia Orientalia<\/em>. The journal publishes high quality articles in a more modern and accessible format.<\/p>\n

Contributions to Studia Orientalia<\/em> and Studia Orientalia Electronica<\/em> will be submitted to two anonymous peer-reviewers. For articles submitted to Studia Orientalia Electronica<\/em> the statements from the reviewers and the publication decision are usually sent to the writer within two months of submission.<\/p>\n

Studia Orientalia<\/em> is published in print, but after a 6 month embargo pediod, all issues are made available in digital form (Publisher’s pdf) in the StOrE \u201cArchives\u201d<\/a> section.<\/p>\n
